RPGs require a compelling storyline and interesting combat mechanics. Infinite Space nails the storyline, but has confusing combat mechanics and makes no attempt to demystify them. That's like a platform game with poor jumping mechanics. It doesn't matter how much polish you put on the parts of the game that aren't core to the genre; if you miss your core mechanics your game blows. While I might be stuck reviewing games I purchased on my personal blog, you're stuck finding obscure low-traffic blogs to defend a mediocre game you like. I'd say I win. It's reasons like this no one takes internet reviews seriously and still go out and buy the game for themselves.
